FluMist now available for flu prevention

MedImmune’s FluMist (intranasal, live, attenuated influenza vaccine) has been made available for the 2008-2009 flu season. MedImmune plans to produce approximately 12 million doses for this flu season.

FluMist is a live, attenuated influenza virus vaccine in a nasal spray formulation indicated for active immunization of individuals 2-49 years of age against influenza virus types A and B.
