Lillyhas launched a redesigned pen-injector device for administering Forteo (teriparatide [recombinant] injection) that features a larger and wider body, a no-priming injection system, and color-coded parts for patient training and communication.

Forteo is indicated for the treatment of men and postmenopausal women with osteoporosis who are at high risk for having fractures.
